Bar 96 provides an environment that maintains a laid-back, breezy, and fresh vibe that defines the Rainey Street area. With features such as huge patios, lots of natural light, great service, and a cool, modern feel with TV screens visible from every seat inside for those oh so crucial games. In addition, the owner added on a back area complete with artificial grass, a food truck option, picnic tables, and cornhole games.

Bar 96 is a chic sports bar. Large TV screens, large big backyard, and  great local craft brew selection, this bar is a great place to relax with friends and enjoy a cold beverage. We suggest the following entertainment:

NO VA is a Spanish phrase meaning "it doesn't go". The modern two story building that now houses NO VA Kitchen & Bar is a striking contrast to the historic buildings on Rainey Street. NO VA. The menu offers home-spun twists on sophisticated classics, like beet marinated sirloin. Chef Brad Sorenson combines his culinary talents with his love of making smile to deliver adventurous yet approachable dishes that will appeal to the eclectic palates of Rainey Street residents and frequenters.

El Naranjo

 

At El Naranjo, restaurant & bar, is dedicated to serving delicious traditional Mexican food. They create savory salsas and moles, well-seasoned food, with great concern for finding a pleasing balance of flavors. They bake their own bread, make their own corn tortillas, and use fresh vegetables and herbs. While the food has a strong culinary resemblance to the former internationally acclaimed restaurant in Oaxaca, they draw from the many rich traditions of Mexican cooking.

Blackheart

 

The Blackheart is located in the heart of the Historic Rainey Street District in Austin, Texas. The House at 86 Rainey Street was constructed in 1889 for Augustus Basnett, a weighmaster and inspector, who resided there for approximately 11 years. The process of transforming the historic house into a bar involved using reclaimed wood and materials that were part of the property as much as possible in an effort to preserve the aesthetic of the Victorian-influenced design of the original structure.

 

The Blackheart features a wide selection of whiskeys as well as traditional and specialty cocktails, beer, wine, and cigars.

 

Victorian influenced décor, reclaimed wood, and rustic interior. The Blackheart has stayed true to it original ambience and structure, which was a 1889 home. Serving whiskeys, cocktails, and cigars, this bar is wonderful for a more relaxed evening. We suggest the following entertainment:

Icenhauer

 

Icenhauer's is located in a renovated house at 83 Rainey Street. Originally built in 1895 as a traditional "wing and gable" house, it remained a family residence until 2009. Over the years, it was owned by several different families and, unfortunately, had fallen into severe disrepair. But — like several other homes on the block — it now has a new life and purpose. Today is a hot spot for local Austenites.

 

Icenhauser’s offers a large backyard, ideal for cinema viewing. The inside is roomy as well, making it an ideal location to bring out the inner singer/ actor! We suggest the following entertainment:

Banger's Sausage House & Beer Garden

 

Located on Rainey Street, Banger’s Sausage House & Beer Garden is known for its professional sausage dogs, such as BBQ Bacon & Shrimp Dog, Cajun Boudin Plate Dog, and Louisiana Lightening Dog. The beers served are Austin microbrews and a few elite out of state microbrews. This restaurant/ bar is a must!
